Business Networking Forum at Kibbutz Degania
This forum takes place during weekends, every three months. Locations vary but are always laid against a pastoral and relaxed background.
In February this year we held a business networking forum for immigrants from the Former Soviet Union who are members of Supportive Community.
This forum takes place during weekends, every three months. The locations vary but are always laid against a pastoral and relaxed background.
The first forum took place in Degania, Israel’s fist kibbutz, in the Jordan Valley opposite the Sea of Galilee. The founders of Degania founded their relationships and work on values of mutual cooperation and support. They aspired to to encourage and create self-employment, cooperation and equality.

Today, 100 years later, 21st Century women pioneers gathered together to promote their micro-businesses in a spirit of cooperation and mutual support. They may exist in a different economy, but they hold somewhat similar values.
The forum highlighted business cooperation, exchanges of ideas and experiences. It also included a business fair which was open to public and exposed the participants to each other's work. The main subject of the day was advertisement. In addition to lectures and joint activities, the participants were requested to present advertising ideas before the full forum. For many, this was their first business fair.
The participants held a key role in planning, initiating and executing this forum. As Irena, one of the participants, said: "I enjoyed being part of this wonderful activity. The fact that I was included in the decision making gave me a lot of self confidence. Also, I got to know all the participants. It was a perfect opportunity for me to come into close contact with some of them and to establish a business network”.
